Allen Bulow

When Allen Bulow attended Carl Sandburg High School, he was Illinois State Wrestling Champion from 1963-64. He also played all four years on the Carl Sandburg football team.
Some of his accomplishments were:
1. All-Conference
2. Honorable mention All-State
3. Captain on the Football Team
4. My Junior Year Qualified For State Tournament
5. Wrestled 30 wins 0 lost during senior year

Allen then attended Southern Illinois University and wrestled all four years. During those years in 1967, he took Fifth Place in the NCAA Tournament Division One at 177 lbs. This qualified him for All American status.

During Allen’s thirty-three years teaching and coaching at Glenbrook South High School, he was both a head coach and assistant wrestling coach. During his tenure, he had eight state qualifiers, three place winners and a State Champion, named Gene Shin in 1982.
Allen coached freshman and sophomore football from 1980 until his retirement in 2003.
While at GBS, he had the great honor of being inducted into the coaches Hall of Fame.

Allen was also Inducted to the Illinois Wrestling Coaches and Officials Hall of Fame in 2003.
