James R. Semetis
Jim Semetis, born in Orland Park, Illinois was an athletic achiever at Carl Sandburg High School during the years 1959-1963. He participated in wrestling for four years, and won conference, district, sectionals, and then State in 1963 at the University of Illinois.
Two of Jim’s brothers wrestled before him, Ron winning State, and Warner placing in State. This inspired Jim to join the wrestling team, and begin his educational career at Carl Sandburg.
After graduating from Carl Sandburg High School, Jim earned a scholarship to Eastern Illinois University. Graduating from College in 1968 he taught High School at Wheaton Central, and coached wrestling for two years. He returned to Eastern in 1970 for his Master’s Degree.
While wrestling in High School and College, Jim received several medals. These awards inspired him in the years ahead to shape his professional goals, and all who knew him saw the passion in his heart.
Jim is a professional with decades of experience working within the Hospitality field. He is now retired and he and his wife Carla are living near Hot Springs, Arkansas, fishing, and enjoying all that life will offer them.
