Mike Probasco. Mike is a proud alumnus of Carl Sandburg High School, class of 1983. His experience as a student-athlete helped him develop a fond appreciation for Carl Sandburg Athletics and he bleeds blue and gold. For this reason, Mike knew it was important to give back to the community and first became involved with the Athletic Booster Club in 2008, helping in the concession stand on Friday Nights. He served as president of the organization from 2010 to 2020. During his tenure, the Athletic Booster Club raised over $1.3 million for the high school. In addition to these funds, the booster program has awarded three hundred $1000 scholarships to student-athletes. During his tenure, Mike was often found selling concessions at Friday night football games, hosting monthly booster meetings for our board members, sending emails to Carl Sandburg families to provide them updates on the state of the club, and running the Carl Sandburg Athletic Booster Club Craft Show. Nothing brought more joy to Mike than seeing the Eagles win a big game.
Mike Probasco leads by example and lives by the mantra “Let’s do what’s best for the kids.” Mike has worked tirelessly to do what is best for the kids of Carl Sandburg High School. Our athletic programs are much stronger because of his work, and we are truly grateful for his contributions to Carl Sandburg High School.
