Scott McGhee

Scott McGhee was a multi-sport athlete for the Carl Sandburg Eagles. He lettered in football, wrestling, track and hockey. Scott excelled on the football field, earning All-State honors his senior year. He was just as dominant on the wrestling mat for the Eagles. Scott went undefeated his senior season, and capped his career by winning the 138-pound IHSA State Championship in the 1976-1977 season. He finished his wrestling career with 134 wins, four losses and one tie.

Scott continued his academic and athletic career at Eastern Illinois University as a member of their football team. From 1977-1980, McGhee was the Panther’s sure handed receiver. He was the team captain his senior year and earned third team All-American honors. During EIU's NCAA Championship run in 1978 he ranked second in NCAA Division II in receiving yards with 878. He led the nation with 19 touchdown receptions in 1981. He has a career collegiate total of 61 catches for an amazing 27.8 yards per catch average. He currently ranks in the EIU career top ten for touchdown receptions (27) and career receiving yards (1,920). He ranks in the top ten in single season receiving yards and single season touchdown receptions.

After graduating from Eastern with a marketing degree, McGhee played two years in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts and one season with the United States Football League (USFL) in Houston.

Scott currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee and oversees 1 Entertainment Music and Management Group. His company offers brand development, digital and social media strategies, and content creation for some of the largest acts in the music industry.
